The Minghella Film Festival on the Isle of Wight is a charitable event hosted by Anthony Minghella’s family that aims to celebrate his life and continue his legacy. Established in 2009, on the first anniversary of his death, the festival provides an ongoing retrospective of Anthony’s work and a platform for showcasing the artists and filmmakers that he still inspires.

For 2010, the festival is expanding to screen films by young, aspiring and up-and-coming filmmakers, inspired by Anthony Minghella's example. We are teaming up with the Isle of Wight Short Film Festival to present the best of the 2009 competition and to bring you Digital Shorts from the same year, funded by Screen South, shown here together for the first time.

The second Minghella Film Festival continues our retrospective of Anthony Minghella's work; our celebration of his life; and our ambition to help and inspire others in Anthony's name.

The 2010 event features rare treasures from the archives of Anthony's work for radio and television, covering more than 30 years, in association with the BFI. Many of Anthony's friends and colleagues will be joining us to help introduce and, in some cases, revive his work - creating a unique tribute and an incomparable experience. Find out more
